“So often, when we feel lost, adrift in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore.        But that shore, that solid ground, is within us”.  Brené Brown

Jodie

I am a Qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and am a Registered Member of the BACP.

I am a person-centred counsellor and use my skills, experience and knowledge to support you with the changes you may wish to see.

I wont make judgements and I don't analyse, dictate or prescribe - we work together to find the answers that you are looking for.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Carl Rogers

Welcome

I offer you the opportunity to share what is going on for you in a calm, safe and confidential space.  This is your space and your time to be heard.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, and I am here to listen and support you to ‘unpack’ the thoughts, feelings and emotions that may have become painful, ignored, too heavy to carry, or silenced.

Together we can work towards a better understanding of what has brought you here, and to enable the comfort and relief necessary to move forward.

My main areas of work are in:

Abuse  - Anxiety  - Depression - High Sensitivity - Low self-esteem - Loneliness - PTSD - Trauma - Neurodiversity - Social Anxiety

My training includes:

Diploma in Counselling Theory and Practice - Certificate in Counselling Skills - Trauma Informed Practice - Polyvagal Theory - Social Prescribing - Suicide Intervention - SST.

"You don't stop the rain by just telling it to stop.  Sometimes you just have to let it pour, let it soak you to your skin.  It never rains for ever.  And know that, however wet you get, you are not the rain.  You are not the bad feelings in your head.  You are the person experiencing the storm.  The storm may knock you off your feet.  But you will stand again.  Hold on".  Matt Haig
